Atom Egoyan personnaly presents his experimental movie Citadel

During the 35th Festival Nouveau Cinema on October 23, 2006 in Montreal I saw the screening of Egoyan's movie 'Citadel'.

After 28 years Arsinee Khanjian, Egoyan's spouse and professional partner comes back to her origin country, which is Lebanon. Egoyan himself is documenting the whole on vacation trip with a small DV-cam. He movie has a personal home video look and at the same time a documentary feel of cultural tendencies and politics in Lebanon.

This movie is labeled documentary, but Egoyan himself explained in a public conversation after the screening that is more of an experimental movie in which he is exploring the effects of narrative elements he added to the documentary material.
